Horseback Riding, Environmental Consciousness & Organic Pasture-Raised Hungarian Grey Cattle Beef

I started horseback riding at the age of six at István Benedek's Camp Olympia stables in Rockville, Maryland. I continued English style indoor ring riding and jumping on a single horse, a German Thoroughbred. At 19 years old I volunteered starting horses around the farmlands of Hódmezővásárhely. I also volunteered one month in the Kéktói Ménes amongst a stud of 86 horses. I've been longriding since I am 22 years old and ever since I have ridden 150, 200, 250 and 300km-s multiple times in groups and alone. I graduated in horsebackriding instructing and horseback tourguide in 2023.

I herd the Hungarian Grey Cattle around the farm off horseback. Experienced horseriders have joined for the experience on events on the farm. One year I was a special guest at the Fekete Lovastanya / Black Horseranch of Kiskunfélegyháza at their Western Fest on a penning competition.

I use saddles by Be Professional. Look Cool. , which were developed through practical experience over thousands of ridden kilometers during Pete and Luisa Breidahl’s journey home from Mongolia to Bavaria. During this journey, they stayed with me for a week in 2021, and since then we have maintained a close friendship. We regularly strive to develop our riding skills, equipment, and equestrian community.
In addition to BPLC saddles, I also enjoy using classic Western, Kyrgyz, Hungarian military, and historical equipment.

Our herd of 15–20 Hungarian Grey cattle graze for most of the year on biologically certified, Ice Age-era Natura 2000 pastures, kept in traditional extensive outdoor conditions. As supplementary feed, we also provide corn cob bales purchased locally in the Makó–Bogárzó area. The Hungarian Grey is a unifying element of the community in one of the rare regions of Europe where livestock-keeping traditions are still widely preserved. We work together with local people whose knowledge is rooted in generations of tradition. This attracts significant international interest and participation.
A package of Hungarian Grey beef contains 5 kg of a mix of neck and round, plus 0.5 kg of meat and bone mix perfect for hearty stews.
In the winter term, reservations for exact dates are generally possible from late October to mid-November, and also in January and February.

The environment of the farm is Ice Age, protected absinth, salty steppic grasslands. The biodiversity of the Eurasian grassland is a matter of debate to equate the biodiversity of primeval forests. There are three medieval plains' churches, the Royal Stables of Mezőhegyes, the Blaskovics crypt and estate where the internationally reknown horse Kincsem hails from and amongst some other Bronze Age burial mounds, one that rises above 10m within the 25km radius of the Blue Farm. The baths of Tótkomlós and Makó bath and spa's are a popular in a large range. The Makó Hagymatikum Spa has a wide range of international visitors.

The grasslands around the Blue Farm provide habitat for several indigenous semi-domesticated and wild animals. I am available for introducing them for class trips and anyone interested.

There is accomodation on the estate of the Blue Farm in the Small Farm. The Small Farm is also a renovated, more than 100 year old furnished building with a manual pump-well and candle lighting. It is without electricity. It is possible to charge electric equipment at the Blue Farm.

There is also accomodation for larger groups at the Great White Farm, that is a strawbale and brick constructed building. It has electric appliances and plumbing.
